Puppy-2-Perfect (Ages 3-6 months)
Ideal for puppies needing foundational training. We cover basic commands, leash training, potty training, and social manners to ensure your puppy grows into a well-behaved companion.
Behavioral Modification

How Does the Board and Train Program Work?
Our Board-&-Train Programs (B&T) are 2-week training programs held here at our Doggy-Designed Home in North Park.
Although our home is designed to look like a Doggy Stay-cation Destination, it is a purposefully placed and designed training facility! Our home hosts multiple doggy playrooms, an enclosed front yard, back and side yards, a doggy hang-out corral with daybeds, a fully turfed doggy race track circling our home, and so much more! Our home-based facility is designed to be a safe, fun, and comfortable stay for your best friend!
The B&T program is dynamic, in that it allows dogsfrom different backgrounds, training proficiency, ages, breeds, and behavioral needs to learn together, from both our team and from one another. Our program has been developed, modified and is consistently reinvented with the experience we have had the pleasure of obtaining from the 1,700+ dogs we’ve trained, helped, taught, and loved!

In San Diego, our dogs are a part of most (if not all) of what we do every day. They are normally socialized members of our families and major contributors to our daily lives.
Our program continually adapts to the evolving dynamics of San Diego shaped by our local community, societal changes, shifts in the environment and laws (like those influenced by Covid), and the needs and expectations of the humans and doggy parents in our community!
More precisely said, our training is uniquely designed for Domesticated Dogs of & in Our San Diego Community!

In our training approach, we integrate modified concepts of dog behaviorism and dog training. We utilize Pack-Methodology, having the B&T dogs work alongside one another, our service dogs in training, and, of course, our head trainer, Ohana— Daniel’s personal Psychological Support Service dog!

Paws-itive Reinforcement
We advance training through Positive Reinforcement and recognition as reward, not treat-training (a.k.a. “treats for trades''). We don't discipline; we simply go back-to-basics with the dogs and start over or refresh the training they have already learned. Believe us when we say that enough sits, stays, or lays will get any unwilling or unmanageable best friend to focus and overcome their attitude or negative behavior!
Dog-Designed Habit Training
Through years of experience and observing the dogs we've trained, we've discovered that the key to forming lasting, corrective habits and learning new behaviors, commands, or processes is a focused, consistent 14-day training period. This well- formulated and precisely implemented approach helps dogs build the foundation for positive change. While research shows humans may take 21-30 days to form a habit, dogs in our program can do it even better! In just 2 weeks with us, they learn, grow, and develop techniques that can be life-lasting and— most importantly—life-changing, for both the dogs and their families!

Proper Socialization Skills with Other Dogs:
We teach your dog how to properly interact with other dogs on the leash. This means that when you walk by another dog, your dog is respectful and comprehensive of your commands and learns how to be respectful of other dogs and their boundaries.
We also teach off-leash socialization both indoors and outside in our custom dog- designed yard and turf dog track! We teach proper play: no biting, jumping on other dogs, or aggressive behavior. We also teach and promote concepts such as sharing toys and water, etc. with other dogs.
Proper Socialization Skills with People
Approach is key, and we teach your dog the right way to approach people on- and off- leash, indoors, and outside so that a proper hello is never a jump, lunge, growl, bark, or anything other than a polite greeting!
Behavioral Modification Desired & Evaluated at Consultation
Based on your dog's unique needs and the desired outcome, we focus on teaching the right coping skills and providing the tools necessary to overcome, curb, and redirect unwanted behaviors. Whether your dog’s behavioral concerns are aggression, anxiety (social or separation), fearful/skittish behavior, uncontrolled excitability, or otherwise, we can work on any behavioral need. Our goal is to help your dog develop new, lasting habits that foster a happier, more balanced life—one that brings joy and social harmony to both you and your dog here in beautiful San Diego!
